Putting Opportunity Within Reach: American Lake CU and ESP support Opportunity Knocks Live in a big way!
This Saturday, Enhanced Software Products, Inc. (ESP) is honored to be a small part of a landmark community event, Opportunity Knocks Live. We are standing alongside American Lake CU as a sponsor in expanding financial inclusion across Pierce County and beyond.
Opportunity Knocks Live: A Launch with Purpose
Tacoma has been selected as the national launch city for Opportunity Knocks Live, a transformative “day of action” inspired by the PBS series Opportunity Knocks. On October 4, 2025, the Greater Tacoma Convention Center will host up to 1,000 community members for a free, full-day event offering practical services to help families break down financial barriers.
Attendees can access a broad range of support:
help reduce or eliminate predatory lending
assistance with utility bills
legal counseling
enrollment in affordable credit, banking, or financial services
job fair and resume support
family services, childcare, and more
For many participants, this is more than just a one-day event. It’s an opportunity to rebuild financial stability, improve credit, and gain access to tools that put them on a path to a more secure future.
Our Commitment: Banking Access for Everyone
At ESP, we believe that access to responsible, fair financial services is a cornerstone of economic dignity. This vision is why American Lake Credit Union called Shaun Murray (our CEO) and presented the opportunity to join American Lake CU, making a positive impact in the lives of those in Pierce County and beyond.

As part of our sponsorship of Opportunity Knocks Live, we are proud to support American Lake CU by providing a $10,000 sponsorship to expand its capacity to serve underserved or underbanked communities.
Additionally, ESP will cover the $5 Membership Account Deposit fee for every new member who joins American Lake Credit Union on the event day. In other words, no barrier to entry on that front.
This two-pronged support reflects our credit union partner and ESP’s core belief: financial inclusion shouldn’t be gated by small up-front costs. By removing that modest obstacle, we hope more participants will have the confidence and means to open a safe, supportive account.
Why This Matters
Many in our communities are underserved by traditional banking, forced to rely on high-fee check cashers, payday lenders, or informal credit arrangements.
Even a modest account-opening fee can be a barrier for families operating under tight margins.
Creating that “on-ramp” can lead to further opportunity: better credit, safer savings, lower transaction costs, and greater wealth building over time.
