ESP Offers Two Service Options for Meraki

With the rise of data breaches and ever-increasing expectations of reliable service, ensuring your credit union does all it can to keep its data secure, and its services available is more critical than ever. Next-generation firewalls help protect against evolving cybersecurity threats and use SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network) functionality to improve resiliency against interruptions.

In an effort to keep your credit union safe from disruptions and cyber threats, ESP is now offering Meraki firewalls in two configurations:

  1. In parallel to your existing firewall, purely for reliable access to FORZA:

    1. It allows us to maintain and troubleshoot your connection directly and can provide enhanced reliability and redundancy.

    2. It is ideal for scenarios where your firewall is managed by a third-party IT company that already manages the rest of your network.

  2. As a primary firewall, Meraki would replace aging firewalls.

    1. It provides additional security functionality and faster, more efficient management.

With Meraki, you gain the following features:

  •  Simpler to Install

    • Meraki firewalls are "plug-and-play" with most ISPs and do not require static IPs. Simply plug into an ISP-provided modem, and it works.

    • Auto-VPN avoids potential incompatibilities between different hardware vendors for FORZA traffic.

  • Better Management

    • ESP can securely manage the devices through Cisco Systems, making it faster and simpler to respond to requests.

    • Firmware updates are automatically applied after the business day ends.

  • More Reliability and Redundancy

    • Has "active-active" Auto-VPN connectivity, meaning if your credit union has two ISPs, Meraki runs a VPN on both links simultaneously and can failover automatically, resulting in fewer service disruptions.

    • Supports 4/5G cellular backup.

    • Can be deployed in failover clusters, so a hardware failure does not cause significant disruption to your credit union.

  • SD-WAN

    • With multiple ISPs, Meraki can balance traffic across two links to take advantage of pooled bandwidth.

  • VoIP and conferencing traffic can be prioritized if your credit union uses Meraki as the primary firewall.

  • Meraki deploys enhanced security functionality if your credit union uses Meraki as the primary firewall.

    • Intrusion Protection and Advanced Malware Protection are both included.

    • Meraki can integrate with Cisco Umbrella for increased security which is often requested by cyber liability insurance.

    • Content filtering rules can be configured to block inappropriate or risky websites.

When you add our cyber security offerings alongside a Meraki firewall, you are mitigating cyber threats at the highest level.
